I am alone down here in my own bathysphere

Life here is quite alright. I read in bed at night.
TV on the sports channel. I sleep on the diagonal.
I keep my heart from going numb with a quiet unrequited thing.
Try not to blow the hatch when I hear the mermaids sing...
